Encyclopedia Brown does it again! This book was just as entertaining as the others! I originally bought this book for my nephew (10 years) and I ended up reading most of it with him! Needless to say, he loved it and so did I! He now wants to read more about Encyclopedia Brown and I can't wait to buy them for him!

Encyclopedia Brown Keeps the Peace

Intellectual Stimulation and Everyday Situations
I read all, yes all, of the 'Encyclopedia Brown' books as a child. My mother picked up the whole set at a garage sale, and it wasn't long before I had read and reread each of them several times. These books challenge young readers intellectually while presenting every-day situations. Encyclopedia Brown not only solves mysteries, he deals with his parents, the town bully, and amazed adults as well. I recommend this series to everyone; if you're older, you may not want to present a book report on an 'Encyclopedia Brown' book, but you'll enjoy it all the same. =)

Excellent series for young readers
This was a classic series of books when I was a kid, and I read a great many of them. I can still remember a lot of the details. Now I am getting them for my son. In my opinion, I think that 9-12 is a little old for this material. I recall in 7th grade (11-12 year olds) a boy in my English class was heckled for presenting a report on an Encyclopedia Brown book in front of class, as most of us had read them some years earlier. I would guess that average kids should read them from ages 7 to 9, with gifted children of 6 being old enough to enjoy them.

End of the American Gospel Enterprise

Author: Michael L. Brown
Average review score:

THIS IS THE WAKE-UP CALL...
This is the wake-up call for Christians who want to
have a REAL walk with a REAL GOD.

Generally speaking, "institutionalized christianity" does
not cut it. This book spells out the reasons why and where
American churchianity has often missed God and HIS will.

If this book does not stir something deep in our soul:
you likely need to get [for REAL] converted.

A Wake Up Call For 21st Century Christianity
In a world where 'Christians' are talking about getting rich and making the 'Gospel' a tool to pad their bank accounts, Michael Brown gives a clarion call to stop and wake up! The Word promises what it will cost to follow the savior and this book will paint a little bit of a different picture than you might receive by watching Christian television. God is looking for warriors who would be willing to follow Him at ANY cost. This book is a must read for both those in ministry and those desiring to live for the King

Arrived so fast! Good job

Excellent Introduction to Statistics
This is an excellent first course in statistics for people who want to understand how to perform and interpret statistics. Contains no calculus or higher math. The first half of the book covers the prerequisite probability theory (including the binomial and geometric distributions), and the second half covers statistics proper, with the empahasis placed on the normal and Student's distributions. The Chi-Square distribution is also covered. Linear regression, confidence intervals and hypothesis testing are given very heavy emphasis. The concentration is on practical problems and their solutions rather than with an abstract mathematical development of the theory. Highly recommended for people who have no prior knowledge of the subject.

The Exploits of Brigadier Gerard
Published in Audio Cassette by Audio Book Contractors (January, 2001)
Authors: Arthur Conan, Sir Doyle and Richard Brown
Average review score:

Nice
I loved reading the book so much, I keep reading it over and over again.

Funny and vivid
It is surprising how funny Conan Doyle could be sometimes. Brigadier Gerard is a wonderfully conceited, rather dim-witted but brave and generous-hearted cavalry officer in Napoleon's Army. His adventures are a delight to read.

EXPORT SALES & MARKETING MANUAL REVIEW IN CHOICE MAGAZINE PUBLISHED BY THE AMERICAN LIBRARY ASSOCIATION Issue: February 2001, Page 1122

John R. Jagoe (Director of the Export Institute) provides comprehensive and authoritative information on exporting from the United States in this publication. Available in four formats (softbound text, CD-ROM, Internet and Classroom Package for Educations), it can serve as a step-by-step guide for the beginner or as a reference for the experienced individual. The printed version contains 640 pages of information-filled text. The electronic versions provide excellent search capabilities (via Acrobat) and very easy access to numerous links to additional sources of information.

Information on the manual, including the table of contents, and the professional qualification of the author, are available at ....

Although other recent works are also available, e.g., Amy Zuckerman and David Biederman, Exporting and Importing (Choice March 1999), Beley Seyoum,Export-Import Theory, Practices And Procedures (Choice November 2000), and David Neipert, A Tour of International Trade (Choice March 2000), none focus solely on the export side or offer as much detail on exporting. Moreover, the availability of the electronic versions gives Jagoe's publication a decided edge.

The manual guides the reader through the entire export procedure, and the marketing approach the author uses makes for interesting reading. Supported by tables, figures, charts, checklists, extensive appendices and a 30-page glossary, libraries are advised to acquire the Internet or CD-ROM version in addition to the print manual.

A very useful resource for businesses, government agencies, and professional associations involved in exporting or in international trade. The manual is also recommended for upper-division undergraduate and above collections that are supporting strong programs in exporting or international trade.

Fairy Kisses and Stork Bites

fairy kisses: An art extravaganza
Oh my God! The text is interesting, but the ART! The subtle shading and soulful eyes seem to leap from the page! This book is a treasure. When can we see more? I give these books regularly as gifts to expecting parents and families with young children. The kids, too, love the art.

Fairy Kisses - My wife & I love this book!
Fairy Kisses and Stork Bites is such an original, beautiful book! What the description doesn't tell you is that it's full of illustrations that are really unique. The author creates thousands of little hand-drawn dots that look almost like black and white photographs, but better. And the facts are funny and fun. We bought 10 copies as gifts for our various pregnant friends and new parents.

The False Prophet: Evil Architect of the New World Order
Published in Paperback by Winterhaven Pub House (July, 1993)
Authors: Ken Klein, Ken Klein Ministries, and Ann Brown
Average review score:

Historical Truth
The author does an excellent job of tying together biblical prophecy and secular history. The history of globalism and world banking is absent in all the history text books that I have read. While it requires faith to believe the biblical references, the conspiracy and control of the world bankers is laid bare in this book. The reference notes are impeccable. I gained peace of mind when I recognized that I cannot defeat this coming "One World Government"; but, God can defeat it.

Why didn't somebody else think of this?!
Klein takes an interesting look at the interpretation of the beasts in the book of The Revelation. In my many years of studying interpretations of the Bible prophecies, Klein seems to have stumbled upon something that no one else has thought of. Really.

I would have to imagine that the position that Klein has taken from his exhaustive study of world history and current events is one that would leave him unpopular in the present escatological evangelical climate. It is vogue to imagine that the "Christian" country that we live in has historically been the good guy. Not to say that we are thoroughly evil, but Klein puts forth an angle on world history that sees us as not the benevolent caretaker that we like to imagine ourselves, but as a tool in the hands of power brokers with sinister motives and selfish intent.

He also effectively shows how spiritual dark forces have been active since the beginning of time to bring about a political and economic system that these forces can control and how we have unwittingly played into their hands.

If you've ever imagined that there is something wrong behind what meets the eye regarding who and what we are as a nation, I encourage you to take a good look at what Klein has thoroughly investigated and see what you think.

Far Beyond the Garden Gate: Alexandra David-Neel's Journey to Lhasa

great story of alexandra david neel's journey to lhasa
while giving a slide lecture at the great neck public library on our biography THE SECRET LIVES OF ALEXANDRA DAVID NEEL I was handed you excellent children's book. You distilled just the right information with lovely pictures to show how fabulous her journey was.Our biography deals with her life and includes her journey which was amazing considering the Lhasa was so forbiddena at that time. CONGRATULATIONS1

Meet Alexandra David-Neel.....
From early childhood, Alexandra David-Neel dreamed of traveling and exploring faraway places. "I craved to go beyond the garden gate, to follow the road that passed it by, and set out for the unknown," she later recalled. "I dreamed of wild hills, immense deserted steppes, and impassable landscapes of glaciers!" As a child, she traveled away from her ordinary life through books and museums, discovering a passion for Buddhism and Asian culture. Her talent as a singer, sent her to India, Greece, and North Africa to perform with opera companies, but that didn't satisfy her wanderlust. Finally in 1911 at the age of forty-three, she left her husband and home in Tunis, North Africa to begin the journey of her dreams. She would travel to the sacred and secretive city of Lhasa, the Forbidden City in Tibet. "Many travelers had been stopped on their way to Lhasa, and had accepted failure. I would not... I would reach Lhasa and show what the will of a woman could achieve!" Using his trademark eloquent prose and artwork, along with some of Alexandra David-Neel's own words, Don Brown weaves a clever and fascinating story in his latest picture book biography, Far Beyond The Garden Gate. Mr Brown's engaging text is filled with imagery, magic, history, mystery, and intriguing facts and details, and complemented by evocative illustrations in soft, dreamy hues. Together word and art transports the reader to Tibet for the arduous adventure of a lifetime. With an Author's Note to augment the story and further enlighten, Far Beyond The Garden Gate is a marvelous introduction to both an amazing woman and little known country that will whet the appetite of kids 8-12, and send them out looking for more.
